Service 04 · Paint protection

A shield between your paint and the Gulf.

Sun, sand, salt air and brake dust are hard on paint in Umm Al Quwain. Wax or ceramic protection, applied by hand on properly prepared paint, keeps the gloss deep, makes dust let go, and turns every wash after this one into an easy one.

Why protect paint here

Bare clear coat loses to the climate.

UV bakes unprotected paint until it fades and chalks. Fine sand settles on it and scratches on the way off. Salt air from the coast and hard water from sprinklers etch spots into the surface, and brake dust bonds to the lower panels. None of this happens overnight, which is exactly why most cars look tired before their owners notice.

A layer of protection sits on top of the clear coat and takes that punishment instead. Water beads and runs off, dust and sand release with less rubbing, and the paint keeps its depth of colour for longer. We apply it only on paint that has been washed, decontaminated and, where needed, polished first, because protection locks in whatever is underneath it.

What is included

  • Snow-foam pre-wash and two-bucket hand wash
  • Clay decontamination so the protection bonds to clean paint, not to grime
  • Light machine polish where the paint needs it, agreed with you first
  • Panel wipe to remove polishing oils before application
  • Hand-applied wax, or a ceramic coating applied panel by panel and levelled under the lights
  • Glass, trim and tyres finished to match
  • Simple aftercare guidance for the first days and a maintenance-wash plan

How it works

Prepare, apply, cure.

Protection is only as good as the paint under it and the patience given to it while it sets. Three stages, no shortcuts.

I

Prepare the paint

Foam, hand wash and clay so nothing gritty is sealed in. If the paint carries swirls or haze, a light polish first is worth it: protection makes gloss last, but it cannot create gloss that is not there. A panel wipe then strips the oils so the coating can bond.

II

Apply by hand, panel by panel

Wax is worked in thinly and buffed off once it has hazed. Ceramic is applied to one section at a time, allowed to flash, then levelled under the lights so there are no high spots or streaks. Trim and glass are masked or protected as the product requires.

III

Cure and hand over

The car rests in the bay while the protection sets, then is inspected again before you collect it. We explain how to treat the paint for the first days, because a coating keeps hardening after you drive away, and we set up the maintenance washes that keep it working.

Straight talk

Wax or ceramic?

Wax gives a warm, wet-looking gloss and is the easier, more affordable choice. In UAE heat and with regular washing it typically holds up for a few weeks before it needs topping up, so it suits cars that come to us often anyway, or a car being tidied before it is sold.

Ceramic coating bonds chemically to the clear coat and forms a harder, slicker layer. It typically lasts months rather than weeks, shrugs off UV, chemicals and water spots far better than wax, and makes dust and sand release with very little contact. It costs more and demands proper preparation, which is why we never apply it over uncorrected paint. How long it lasts depends on how the car lives: garaged and hand washed is one story, parked in the sun and taken through brush machines is another.

Send us a photo of the car and how it is used, and we will tell you honestly which one is worth your money.

Whichever you choose, the aftercare is the same

  • Hand wash only, with the two-bucket method, so the layer is not scrubbed off by brushes
  • A regular maintenance wash rather than waiting until the car is heavy with dust
  • No harsh degreasers or automatic-wash chemicals on the bodywork
  • A quick top-up or booster at maintenance washes to keep the water beading tight

Good to know

Protection, answered.

A wax on top of a hand wash usually adds an hour or two to the wash. A ceramic coating usually needs the car for most of a day, and longer if the paint needs polishing first, because the coating has to be applied carefully and left to set before the car goes back into the sun. We agree the drop-off and collection time with you on WhatsApp.

Honestly, it depends on the car's life. Wax typically lasts a few weeks in UAE conditions. A ceramic coating typically lasts months rather than weeks, longer when the car is garaged and hand washed, shorter when it lives outside and goes through brush machines. We would rather give you that straight answer than promise a number we cannot see the future of.

Yes. Use two buckets, a clean mitt and a pH-neutral shampoo, rinse the sand off before you touch the paint, and dry with a clean microfiber. Avoid rotating-brush machines and strong degreasers on the bodywork. Or bring it back to us for a maintenance wash and we will top the protection up while it is here.
